One of the miracles of prayer; that state of Oneness with God, is that I get thoughts that counteract the message of fear. Recently; just Now, I realized just how constant those thoughts that “something bad is going to happen,” enter my head. As God helped me process that new Knowing, I became Aware; aware of the staccato like fashion in which, the ego; the edging God out mentality, sends thoughts of dome & glom my way. Indeed, it has been a repeated chorus; a litany. And, at other times a subtle echo; that vague sense of uneasiness, when I can’t put a name to what I am “scared about,” attempts to disrupt Gods Presence in my life. Of course, whether loud & clear or deviously hidden, this rootless vagrant; that edging God out mentality, fails. Gods dedication to His/Her Creations is eternal. Testimonies of this come to mind:
Zephaniah 3:17 For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.
Romans 8:39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below–indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Buddhist Monk. Zen Master. Spiritual teacher. People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child — our own two eyes. All is a miracle.
Rumi, 13th Century Persian Theologian. You were born with potential. You were born with goodness and trust. You were born with ideals and dreams. You were born with greatness. You were born with wings. You were not meant for crawling, so don’t. You have wings. Learn to use them and fly.
Eckhart Tolle Spiritual Teacher. Author. You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level.
And, so, my friends, dear reader, I acknowledge who I am. And, that is, the Creation of, the I Am That I Am. No weapon; neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, shall be able to separate me from the power of God. I remind myself and Affirm — God is pleased with my desire to please God. I allow myself to remember to remain human; to be the sojourner, pilgrim/visitor, that I am, here on earth. Sometimes trudging along; but never alone, as I learn. Learn to trust; Trust God…Infallibly! Unequivocally! rain or shine!
